Game Plan
I thought we would be in Nairobi longer, but we actually left on Thursday. Eric, Bryan, and I have been in Nakuru till yesterday, when we came back to Nairobi (where I am now). We just got DSL back at Eric's house, so I should be able to get some pictures up once we get back.
It's been a quiet few days. I've enjoyed some time to get into some good books (C.S. Lewis is my homeboy) and we have spent some time in the Word, planning out what we want to accomplish in the next few months. We want to make sure not to spread ourselves too thin, but at the same time we want to be able to bring a rich amount of knowledge and understanding in the short time we will have at our different location. The hand powered tape players Eric bought using money raised at the CYC winter retreat will help us continue to feed believers and non-believers even after we are gone.
Our game plan is coming along very well. Hopefully it will be a little more effective than the Bears' was.
We are back in Nairobi for a few reasons. One, we need to get the proper travel documents to allow for a trip to Sudan. Second, we need to look into getting a flight there because if we don't, we are looking at a four or five day trip, and we would probably have to drive through Uganda, right through an area where the Lord's Resistance Army (LRA) have been abducting children and creating youth soldiers. The film Invisible Children highlights this horrific issue.
Over the next few weeks we will spend time in some books that Eric has purchased for us, and we will write out all of our lessons. There is also a possibility that we will be going into the bush at the end of this month for a week or so, but it's not certain yet.
Thanks for checking back, and I'll get some pictures up once we get back to Nakuru.

OHHH YEAH! TONY! What up thug?! The band is pretty much famous by now after our first show!! Lots of moshin and headbanging. Good times. The Devil Wears Prada is still rockin. And of course... LOST IS ON TOMORROW!!!
Processing... PROCESSING!!
Later bro,
David
David is right on. His band is to appear on Conan tomorrow night. We all miss you. Speaking of....I asked Andrea if she missed you on Sunday. Big mistake. I forgot how much she hears that from folks everyday (I made the same mistake last time you were in Africa). So when I asked her on sunday and she somewhat freaked out we both hatched an idea.... At the superbowl party at the Phillips (which rocked regardless of the game's outcome) I asked Andrea (on cue), "Hey, do you miss Tony much since he's been gone?" Andrea (on cue) looks down puts one hand over her eyes and quickly exits the room. Everyone's attention immediatly fastens on Andrea and then shoots back in my direction. "Arol, what did you do?" "Arol, go afer her." came from the crowd. Andrea was supposed to quickly return laughing..but she didn't. She stayed out of the room leaving me hanging and looking pretty crappy. Eventually she came back and we had a good laugh.
You are missed holmes. I'm going to watch Lost with my eyes closed just for you.
Love,
Arol
Tony,
We love hearing from you! We are praying without ceasing for the three of you...
If you're asking for of vote on the Sudan deal, how about if you don't get a flight you don't go? Maybe you didn't ask for a vote....just a mom thing :)
Your car froze to death in the driveway (-15 degrees) but we resurrected it this morning!
I love you with all my heart...Keep following hard....

verses for the day:
Psalm 121
1 I lift up my eyes to the hills—where does my help come from?
2 My help comes from the LORD,the Maker of heaven and earth.
3 He will not let your foot slip—he who watches over you will not slumber;
4 indeed, he who watches over Israel will neither slumber nor sleep.
5 The LORD watches over you—
the LORD is your shade at your right hand;
6 the sun will not harm you by day,nor the moon by night.
7 The LORD will keep you from all harm— he will watch over your life;
8 the LORD will watch over your coming and going both now and forevermore.
love you
Dad
HEEEEY TONY!
So basically, LOST tonight was CRAZY!! and i missed the short ride back home where we would discuss the episode and come up with our own little theories about things.
buuut, i know that God's using you over there in Kenya. and that's waaaay more important than LOST. i'm keeping you in my prayers and thoughts.
oh btw, our school counselor was like, "so what's your lazy brother doing this semester?"
Me: "Well, actually, he's in Africa."
Mrs. White: "OOOO WOW!!! THAT'S SO COOL! IS HE DOING MISSIONS WORK?!"
Me: "Yes he is."
White: "THAT IS SO AWESOME. I wouldn't finish my senior year either."
yeah that just made me laugh alot and i just thought i'd share it with you.
i love you lots.
Andrea
